The Italian physicist received the Outstanding Scientist Award of the European Geosciences Union in 2010 and is currently a recipient of a prestigious grant awarded by the European Research Council for his project "Thermodynamics of the Climate System NAMASTE" ().
In his research, he combines the fields of dynamic meteorology and climate dynamics with statistical physics and applied mathematics. Using various complex models, he explores climate variability and change, especially climatic tipping points and feedbacks. The scientist joins our Global Ideas pool of distinguished climate experts who will answer the most pressing questions related to climate change.
