Jörn Behrens is an applied mathematician at the KlimaCampus at the University of Hamburg. He works on creating basic mathematical methods for climate models. Together with his team, Behrens develops numerical methods in order to closely simulate geophysical processes. His research has led, among other things, to the establishment of a tsunami earlywarning system in Southeast Asia.
