3:57Now Playing"Where can we see the Wall?" is a question frequently asked by tourists. Remnants of the 155-kilometer-long Cold War frontier can be seen at the East Side Gallery, Checkpoint Charlie and at the Berlin Wall Memorial and Mauerpark on Bernauer Strasse.
The biggest stretch of the Berlin Wall left standing is the 1.3-kilometer-long East Side Gallery. In 1990, a variety of artists began covering it with imaginative, often political works. Checkpoint Charlie on Friedrichstrasse was the crossing for diplomats, military personnel and foreign citizens.
The border barriers remain a popular motif for photos. A section of the original wall can also be seen at the memorial on Bernauer Strasse. The Window of Remembrance commemorates those who lost their lives at the Wall.
