For a long time, Chanyang Ju dreamt of a life in freedom, with no hunger or violence. Now 25, she grew up in North Korea amidst poverty and oppression. During the great famine of the 1990s, many of her relatives died. Her father decided to get his family to safety. Chanyang Ju now lives in South Korea - after a harrowing escape.
