Across Latin America countries, people, mostly women, took part in strikes and protests for Women's Day. For many women in Latin America, the most pressing issue is one of survival. Figures from 2018 show that Brazil has the highest number of femicides, at over twelve-hundred. It's followed by Mexico, Argentina and Honduras. If you look at the rate of killings per hundred-thousand women, you see the crisis is worst in El Salvador. With 6.8 murders per 100,000 inhabitants, El Salvador has the highest rate of femicides in the world, followed by Honduras and Bolivia
