But complaints over law enforcements officers concealing their identities have sparked criticism that it's a step towards having a secret police force. Trump has made a shift in rhetoric over the coronavirus crisis in his first pandemic briefing in nearly three months. Trump told reporters the virus will probably get worse before it gets better, noting "a concerning rise" in COVID-19 cases in southern US states. He has previously refused to acknowledge there is a problem. Trump, who has been reluctant to wear a mask himself in public, also changed his stance on facial coverings by encouraging Americans to wear them.
