28:32Now PlayingJordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi tells DW his country has not received enough vaccine doses from the international "Covax" initiative, saying it would "knock on every door" to obtain vaccines from other sources, including China and Russia.
Jordan has a population of around 10 million along with hundreds of thousands of refugees from Syria, and has been praised for providing vaccinations to refugees as well as its own citizens. Under its first Covax allocation, it is set to receive just 437,000 doses.
As Jordan struggles to obtain sufficient supplies, Safadi rejected Western concerns over Chinese and Russian "vaccine diplomacy," saying "nobody will benefit from politicizing this issue."
Safadi also revealed his frustrations over the Syrian crisis and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in a wide-ranging interview with DW's Richard Walker.
