In this case an individual is being prosecuted for a murder that was thought to be ordered by the Russian state. Vadim Krasikov was handed a life sentence for the killing, which prosecutors believe was ordered by Russian state security. The verdict is expected to add further strain to already frayed relations between Russia and Germany.
