Meanwhile, other European countries have backed away from nuclear energy, because of its inherent dangers regarding electricity production and waste storage.
Most French people support the President´s nuclear strategy. Patrick Fauchon, the mayor of the village Flamanville in Normandy is no exception. His village is home to a third-generation pressurized water reactor which is finally scheduled to become a part of the grid, after a decade of setbacks. However, some of his constituents are voicing their concerns.
