The urgency of the COVID-19 pandemic spurred a worldwide response. From government to business, the arts to science. Big and small innovations are not only encouraged but critical for the survival of many.

But some efforts have become more successful than others. Just a few months ago the municipal government in Mexico City was still distributing ivermectin in recovery kits to residents who tested postitive for COVID-19 despite no evidence that the drug is effective against the virus.

But tremendous breakthroughs have occurred in the scientific community, advancements in mRNA technology could be critical for cancer treatments of the future.
