Security is tight as thousands of protesters gather in the state capital Munich and a town near the summit venue. To make their voices heard, activists are set to join marches planned by Greenpeace, Oxfam and numerous other non-govermental organisations. They are calling on G7 leaders to take greater action against climate change and global poverty.
