as posted by the channel

US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has used her visit to Taiwan to deliver a statement of solidarity, saying her country would do 'whatever it takes' to boost Taiwan's ability to defend itself.

Pelosi met with Taiwan's President Tsai Ing-wen, after earlier addressing the self-governing island's parliament. She's the highest-ranking US politician to visit Taiwan in 25 years, though she's NOT there as an official representative.

Pelosi ignored stark warnings from China, which views the island as its own territory. She said she supports the status quo, and was bringing a message of peace.
