But in the course of campaigning, the first voices of dissent have emerged - with some Republicans saying the US can't afford to keep writing 'blank checks.'

In the Midwestern battleground state of Ohio, Republican Senate candidate J.D. Vance is against funding the war in Ukraine. How is his stance playing with the state's Ukrainian community? DW's Ines Pohl went to the Cleveland suburb of Parma to find out.
