In Madagascar, low rainfall has led to severe drought. DW's Adrian Kriesch visited Tsiombe in the south, where the situation is particularly bad. Nearly 1.5 million people are dependent on aid and many are living in famine-like conditions.
Another country hit hard by the effects of climate change is Iraq. Sandstorms are frequent and lakes have dried up – as has much of its agricultural land.
