But nine months in, that enthusiasm is waning, as food and energy costs are rising. A new study shows that just 40 percent of Europeans are in favor of supporting Ukraine, regardless of the price. Roughly the same number think support should be restricted. Germany has welcomed over a million Ukrainians, and many are still living with people who opened their doors to them at the start of the war.
