4:37Now PlayingThe future of European energy could rely on Africa. With lots of sunshine and wind, much of the continent is ideal for generating clean electricity, or for using it to create another clean fuel - hydrogen.
Now the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and Germany have struck a 34 billion dollar deal in Mauritania, where they'll build a hydrogen facility near the capital Nouakchott.
It has a planned capacity of 10 gigawatts - the output of roughly 5 to 6 standard nuclear power plants. The first phase of the project is set to be completed by 2028.
