The conflict between the Sudanese army and the rival Rapid Support Forces paramilitary is now entering its fourth week. The conflict seemed to erupt suddenly last month but was years in the making. DW looks at the factors that led to the outbreak of violence and whether the international community may have contributed to the problems that led to war.
