10:08Now PlayingSpanish prime minister Pedro Sánchez announced to dissolve the parliament and call a general election. Parliamentary elections were originally expected for the end of the year but will now be held in two months time. The surprise decision, considered by many the biggest gamble of Sanchez' career, comes after his left-wing alliance suffered heavy losses in Sunday's regional and local elections.
Conservative opposition leader Alberto Nunyez Feijoo welcomed the move and called on voters to make him Spain's next leader.
We talk about the political situation in Spain with Alana Moceri. She's a professor at the IE school of economics and Global Affairs in Madrid.
