Longtime Republican Strategist Rick Wilson spoke with DW's Washington Bureau chief, Ines Pohl about the upcoming GOP debates and primary season.

Despite former President Trump's four indictments, he discussed how conservative voters live in a vastly different reality, operate within a huge media bubble, and are not swayed by any negative coverage about Trump.

Wilson also spoke about the current state of the Republican party and how he believes his former political home has completely aligned with Trump and has evolved into a "radical party based on authoritarianism."

He also believes that the US is already in a constitutional crisis because a huge swath of GOP voters still don't believe Joe Biden is the duly elected leader, which sets a dangerous tone for the 2024 election.
