At the first ever Africa Climate Summit in Kenya's capital, the discussions with the private sector and civil society, focused on raising funds to help adaptation and resilience in the face of climate change.
Kenya already generates most of its power from renewables, and wants to go all the way by the end of the decade. But despite being able to harness the power of the wind, water and sun, it's still struggling to maintain a constant energy supply.
Across town from the grand discussions at the climate summit, a more modest initiative is attempting to help make the city more liveable. Nairobi is growing fast, and so is the waste it produces. It's struggling to manage and recycle it, but some Nairobians think all hope is not lost.
