The UN Security Council held an emergency meeting on Wednesday to address spiraling violence in Haiti. The country has seen an explosion of violence in recent days as powerful gang leaders launch attacks in an effort to oust prime minister Ariel Henry. Henry's critics say that he has not stuck to his promise to resign in February, instead forming an alliance with the opposition until new elections can be held.

For more on this, we talk to Brookings' foreign policy analyst Sophie Rutenbar, who was based in Haiti for the United Nations.
