18:18Now PlayingAnti-government protests took place across Israel over the weekend, as the war in Gaza approaches the six-month mark and approximately 100 hostages remain in captivity after Hamas’ October 7 terror attack.
Protesters in Tel Aviv blocked the city's ring road while demanding early elections as well as calling for the release of hostages by Hamas.
In Jerusalem, hundreds of protesters picketed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's private residence, blaming his far-right government for failing to secure the release of the hostages believed to still be in Gaza and the remains of some 30 others.
Meanwhile, Israel's military has withdrawn its troops from Gaza's al-Shifa hospital, saying its two-week raid was one of the most successful operations in its war against Hamas in Gaza. It says it has killed scores of Hamas fighters, as well as gathering weapons and intelligence in the operation as part of its response to the October 7th terror attacks. Hamas is considered a terrorist organization by several countries.
