YouTube Description
as posted by the channelIsrael has reopened the Erez border crossing to allow more humanitarian aid to enter through northern Gaza.
The first shipment of aid to use the Erez crossing arrived from Jordan. Israel opened the Rafah border crossing with Egypt in November, and the Kerem Shalom crossing at the border with Israel in December. The US and other countries have been air-dropping aid and the US is building a floating aid pier off Gaza's Mediterranean coast that will allow ships to deliver aid directly.
Aid agencies have been calling for its re-opening for months, to allow the supply of desperately needed food and medicine to hundreds-of-thousands of civilians at risk of famine. The re-opening also follows US demands that Israel do more to address Gaza's humanitarian crisis.
