The European Union has agreed on a 14th set of sanctions against Russia, focused for the first time, on Liquefied Natural Gas - or LNG. At present, Russia accounts for around 16 percent of the EU's LNG imports, with France, Spain and Belgium the main buyers. The new sanctions will not prevent member states from buying Russian LNG, but it will ban them from re-exporting it to other countries. Germany had originally been threatening to block the new sanctions over fears on the effect it would have on small companies. DW Business speaks with Maria Shagina, Senior Fellow at the Institute for Strategic Studies, about whether this latest set of sanctions will have any tangible effect on the Russian economy.
