2:59Now PlayingIran's supreme leader has given his offical backing to the recently elected president Masoud Pezeshkian. Ayotollah Ali Khamenei voiced his support for Pezeshkian at an endorsement ceremony in Tehran, in the presence of senior Iranian officials and diplomats. The proceedings were broadcast on state TV. Pezeshkian is considered a reformist, he beat his ultraconservative opponent in a run-off election in July. He is due to be sworn in on Tuesday.
