The Harris campaign said that almost a third of the donations came from first-time contributors. The Trump campaign, meanwhile, reported having more than 300 million dollars on hand at the start of the month. The figures underscore the huge role money plays in modern US election campaigns.
To talk more about money in US politics, we are joined by political science Professor Ray La Raja from the University of Massachusetts Amherst – where he's also co-director of the UMass Amherst Poll.
