They rejected a contract deal which would have included a pay rise of 25 percent over four years. That is lower than the 40 percent they had demanded. The strike will halt production of its best-selling jets. It's just the latest crisis the US aircraft manufacturer is facing, as the company tries to restore confidence after several plane crashes and a number of safety scandals.
