YouTube Description
as posted by the channelLebanon has begun deploying troops near the border with Israel to oversee a ceasefire between Israel and the militant group Hezbollah. The deal requires both sides to start withdrawing from the border area. The Israeli military has imposed a nighttime curfew in southern Lebanon, warning people not to return to areas where its troops are still present. But thousands of displaced Lebanese are venturing back to the south.
Meanwhile, across the border in northern Israel, an estimated 60,000 residents fled their homes over the past 14 months to escape relentless rocket fire from Hezbollah. With a ceasefire in effect, many are hoping to return home. But as DW's Emily Gordine reports, not everyone is convinced of their safety.
