But ever since it was implemented, skirmishes have continued. And after Hamas attacked Israel from Gaza on October 7th, 2023, things escalated in Israel’s northern boundary. Why has this non-border between Israel and Lebanon never become a step towards peace in the Middle East instead of just another battleground? Will a ceasefire bring hope for a more peaceful future? And has the fall of Syria's long-term dictator, Bashar Assad, changed things on the ground?
