as posted by the channel

The German parliament has been discussing proposals to prohibit the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party.

Germany's domestic intelligence agency is monitoring the AfD due to concerns that it may pose a threat to democracy. While some factions within the party have been officially designated as far-right extremist, the AfD is expected to perform well in next month’s national elections. Opinion polls suggest it could emerge as the second-largest party in parliament. However, other parties have stated they will not enter a coalition with the AfD to form a government.
