15:21Now PlayingWith the dramatic rift opening up between the US and Europe, can Asian allies still rely on Trump’s America? DW’s Richard Walker spoke to Philippine Foreign Secretary Enrique Manalo at the Munich Security Conference. Manalo said he hoped the US and Europe can resolve their differences — and expressed confidence that Washington would stick by its commitments to Manila in the face of tensions with China in the South China Sea. With the Trump Administration once again pulling out of the Paris climate agreement, Manalo stressed that the Philippines will keep up its fight against climate change, saying it believed in multilateralism as the best way to do that. He also spoke out about the upcoming Ukraine peace talks, saying “both sides have to be satisfied,” and expressed hope a free trade deal with the EU could be agreed by the end of this year.
