5:53Now PlayingIn Russia's Ukraine war, the Russian army claims to have made major new gains in the western Kursk region. The defence ministry in Moscow says it's retaken a dozen settlements and more than 100 square kilometres of territory the Kursk region. The villages are to the north, east and south of Sudzha -- the main town in the region under Ukrainian control. Moscow has launched a counteroffensive to win back land taken by Kyiv last year.
