European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen unveiled the plans to support green energy and vaccine production during a visit to Cape Town. South African President Cyril Ramaphosa said the bilateral summit comes at a time of economic nationalism, referring to tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump. Von der Leyen said the EU was eager to deepen its relationship with South Africa.
