8:41Now PlayingEurope is planning a massive hike in defense spending after shifts in its relationship with the US and changes to its security outlook. Germany has committed massive sums to European, as well as its own defense expenditure. On Friday, the upperhouse of the German parliament gave the green light to an almost unlimited increase in defense spending. In addition, lawmakers agreed to an infrastructure fund worth half a trillion euros. This decision came a day after the European Union agreed to increase defense spending by 800 billion euros.
