However, as these countries expand their military ambitions, one key question remains: where will they find the soldiers to fill the ranks? A global Gallup survey from last year showed that only 23% of Germans and 33% of Britons would be willing to fight for their country in the event of war—raising doubts about the public’s readiness to support these defense plans.
