Governments have also promised to protect more of its waters - meeting at the UN Ocean Summit this week to discuss ways forward. And it's essential: billions of people rely on the ocean for their primary source of food and livelihoods, it's responsible for making around half the oxygen we breathe, and it cools the planet. But it's in deep trouble. Sea surface temperatures are rising, threatening the vast ecosystems that both wildlife and humans depend on. So, what else can we do to save the ocean that feeds us?
