Rifts on foreign policy have become visible within the center-left party. Some are unhappy about what they see as militaristic policies. Tensions have erupted over post-Ukraine militarization, backed by the new government's vice chancellor, and a pacifist faction calling for a return to détente with Russia. This faction has even issued a manifesto urging reengagement with Moscow, which risks exacerbating the internal conflict.
