The German Chancellor made the announcement after holding talks in Berlin with Jordan's King Abdullah .
Merz said his government would work with Jordan to deliver desperately needed humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip. The German chancellor called Israel's decision to lift some aid restrictions "an important step" but added "further ones must follow quickly." Merz also stressed the need for a ceasefire.
