7:18Now PlayingA new opinion poll suggests that support for the war effort among Ukrainians has drastically declined in recent months.
According to the latest numbers, 69 percent of Ukrainians now favor a negotiated end to the war as soon as possible, while only 24 percent support continuing the fight until victory. This is a complete reversal from three years ago.
The poll also suggests that feelings about Kyiv’s most important ally have sharply deteriorated, with approval of US leadership dropping to just 16 percent... down from 66 percent in 2022.
Another notable finding relates to attitudes toward long-term Western integration - which have become more pessimistic. According to the poll, only 32 percent of Ukrainians expect their country to join NATO within the next ten years, down from 64 percent in 2022. And only 52 percent now think Ukraine will become an EU member soon, compared to 73 percent three years ago.
