But members of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's cabinet oppose a deal with Hamas and Israel's military is preparing to push deeper into Gaza City.
Gaza's Hamas-run health ministry says dozens of people were killed in Israeli attacks on Saturday. More deaths were recorded due to malnutrition after a global hunger monitor declared famine in the territory.
