YouTube Description
as posted by the channelGermany, France and Britain – known as the E3 - have triggered a mechanism to reimpose UN sanctions on Iran over its nuclear program. The three European nations say the Iranian government has not done enough to limit its nuclear production. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio welcomed the initiative, drawn up under a so-called snapback mechanism as part of the 2015 nuclear deal or Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). Rubio says the Trump administration will work with its European partners. Iran has called the decision baseless and unlawful and says it could withdraw from the international treaty on the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons. On June 13, 2025, Israel’s military launched strikes on several of Iran’s nuclear and military facilities, followed by a US strike on Iran’s Fordow enrichment facility on June 22, 2025.
