4:40Now PlayingIn an attempt to solve a deepening political crisis, French President Emmanuel Macron has appointed a new prime minister. He chose Defense Minister Sébastien Lecornu, one of his closest allies, for the job. The 49-year-old is the country's fourth prime minister in a year and will oversee a minority government once again. His predecessor lost a confidence vote on Monday over proposed austerity measures. Lecornu's first challenge will be to win approval for the new budget from a divided parliament.
