Thousands of protesters marched through Tbilisi to commemorate one year of protests in the Georgian capital.

The demonstrations began last year when the government stopped discussing the possibility of joining the European Union. Crowds poured into the streets and gathered outside Parliament, which led to clashes with police. In response, authorities cracked down on public assembly and restricted rights groups and independent media. Since then, the pro-EU rallies have been scaled back but still take place daily.
