Russian President Vladimir Putin is set to hold talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi as the pair aim to strengthen economic co-operation in a delicate political moment.

The Russian President is in India for the first time since launching a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022. President Putin hopes to increase sales of oil, missile systems and fighter jets. India is under pressure from the United States to distance itself from Russia over its war in Ukraine.
