Germany's Chancellor Friedrich Merz has vowed to increase pressure on Russia and to push for long-term support for Ukraine.

Merz has been holding talks with the NATO chief Mark Rutte Merz in Berlin. He says European leaders have told Trump that only Ukraine can decide on its own borders in any peace deal.

DW's chief political correspondent Nina Haase asked the German Chancellor Merz about concerns over apparently waning US support for Europe.
