The former Foreign Minister and Defense Minister of Ecuador spoke to DW’s Nina Haase at the 2026 Munich Security Conference, saying emerging powers from the Global South must shape the next era of global governance, and she laid out her reasons to remain optimistic about human agency and political will despite over 60 active conflicts worldwide.
