9:28Now PlayingAs the US/Israel-Iran war intensifies, India is beginning to feel the economic shockwaves thousands of miles away. From household kitchens to restaurants, there is shortage and price rise of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) that is widely used as cooking gas. India imports nearly 60 percent of its LPG consumption, and about 90 percent of those imports pass through the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global energy corridor that has been affected by the ongoing crisis.This is one of the clearest signs of how the crisis is affecting daily life in India. The government has now invoked emergency measures, asking refiners to ramp up production amid warnings that supplies could run dangerously low if disruptions continue. DW Correspondent Adil Bhat reports from New Delhi.
