4:38Now PlayingItaly's Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is facing a major challenge to her leadership after voters rejected a proposal to change the country's judicial system. Almost 54 percent voted against the reforms. The referendum is being seen as a test of support for the prime minister ahead of parliamentary elections next year. The proposed reforms, which would have required amendments to Italy's constitution, have been a central project of Meloni's right-wing, three-party coalition. She has described the defeat as a "lost opportunity to modernize Italy".
