6:49Now PlayingIn Venezuela, rescuers have pulled a survivor from a collapsed building eight days after twin earthquakes struck the north of the country. The 43-year-old security guard had been trapped under rubble in the basement of a shopping center since the 24th of June. Rescuers worked for over 100 hours to free him, braving torrential rain and aftershocks. They kept him alive with food and water while excavating the concrete structure that collapsed around him. He was saved because his cabin held ground and created an air pocket. The back-to-back earthquakes destroyed tens of thousands of buildings and killed more than 2,200 people.
