Rachid Taha - Barra Barra

In 1991, Algeria would have it's first free elections since it's independence. Unfortunately, the party that won by a large margin was the FIS, a fundamentalist Islamist party. Fearing what the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State called "One man, one vote, one time," the Algerian armed forces stepped in and cancelled the election which would lead to a 10 year civil war.

(imagine screwing up a country so bad that people think the best option is to revoke the rights of 50% of the population, end most forms of recreation and become a theocracy.)
